WEISS LAKE POSSESSION LIMITS & LENGTH LIMITS
Some of the following limits are specific exeptions allowed by the
State of Alabama for Weiss Lake PLEASE NOTE: It shall be unlawful for any
angler to fish with more than three rods and reels, or poles, or any
combination thereof on Weiss Lake Reservoir at any time.

Crappie:
white, black, hybrids and/or sub-species, must be at least 10-inches, 30 in possession.
Black Bass:
largemouth, smallmouth, redeye and/or spotted, no size restrictions, 10 in possession.
Bream:
Bluegill, shellcrackers and other sunfish species, no size restrictions, 50 in possession."
Walleye:
no size restrictions, 5 in possession.
Temperate Bass:
White, yellow, striped and/or hybrids, no size restrictions in Lake Weiss, 30 in possession.

State law varies from body-of-water to body-of-water. Check your
local laws covering your particular fishing lake.
It is a violation of Alabama law for any person to transport more than
one day's creel limit of any species of game fish beyond the boundries
of this State. It is a violation of Alabama law for any person to fillet
freshwater fish while on public waters, except when fish are being
prepared for immediate cooking and consumption; provided, however,
that fish may be drawn or gutted with heads left attached.

FISHING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Non-residents 16 years of age and older and most Residents between 16 and 65 years of age must purchase an Alabama fishing license before
fishing in Alabama. The follow persons are exempt from the requirement of purchasing an Alabama sport fishing license:
- Residents and Non-residents under 16 years of age.
- Resident anglers who are fishing in private ponds.
- Residents fishing with ordinary hook and line (no rod and reel or artificial bait) in their county of residence. These anglers must have reasonable proof of their county residency with them while fishing.
- Residents over 65 years of age. They must have proof of age and permanent resident with them while fishing.
- Resident and Non-residents fishing in Commercial Fee Fishing Ponds operating under permit from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
